Highline

The SKYWALK, located on the historic iron walkways used for the maintenance of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and inaugurated on the occasion of Expo 2015, is an extraordinary opportunity to admire the Galleria from above. Walking between the glass and metal of the Galleria, you can immerse yourself in the history and curiosities of Giuseppe Mengoni’s masterpiece, enjoying a never-before-seen perspective to appreciate its most iconic architectural details. The SKYWALK invites you to enjoy an experience suspended in time, where the frenetic pace of Milan continues to flow beneath you.
The 40-meter-high, 250-meter-long walk starts at the height of Piazza della Scala and goes all the way up to admire Piazza Duomo from above. Along the way you can find more than 50 information panels about Milan’s skyscrapers, its monuments and the history of the Galleria. Designer sofas in collaboration with Rossi di Albizzate and Matteo Thun will allow you to relax and lose yourself in the majestic architecture of the Galleria as seen from above.
The project
HIGHLINE project is an evolving multidisciplinary project. A place that looks to the future but with its roots firmly anchored in a past of history, art and wonder.
In addition to the 40-meter-high SKYWALK that skirts the rooftops of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, HIGHLINE aims to become a cultural and inclusive space, thanks to the opening of the Clock Room (ARTSPACE), the Panoramic Terrace (ROOFTOP) and the ARTSHOP, planned for 2025.
